About the Book

I am incredibly delighted to share one of my recent creative milestones: illustrating the Hungarian children’s book of poetry, Tarka macska (Patcy Cat), written by Nikolett Pereczes and published in 2026. This beautiful volume is a vibrant collection of rhythmic, playful poems written for preschoolers and young schoolchildren. The verses invite young readers into an enchanting world of everyday adventures, filled with balloons, bees, mermaids, and a gentle mottled cat who guides them along the way - tenderly exploring universal themes of love, courage, family, and our profound connection to nature.

The Art of Visual Storytelling

For me, illustrating this book was a beautiful extension of my deep passion for visual art and psychological well-being. Knowing how deeply children connect with images to make sense of the world, my goal was to create illustrations that serve as a warm, comforting container for their imagination. Through expressive characters and a focus on the changing seasons and the natural world, the artwork aims to capture the child-like wonder embedded in the poetry. It was an absolute privilege to bring these whimsical characters to life, creating a colorful visual landscape meant to spark joy, facilitate cozy family moments, and encourage meaningful connections during bedtime stories and shared reading.
